This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
If you were expecting a restaurant, market or cafe and landed on a listing in this group, it usually means the original source listed the business under an unusual or mixed category rather than a plain food label. Contact information, address and hours are still pulled from the same public data used across Downers Grove and Illinois, so they should be accurate even where the category is not a perfect fit. Because this group spans everything from medical clinics to auto shops to gift stores, there is no single etiquette or norm that applies across it; treat each listing on its own terms and call ahead if the category alone does not tell you what you need to know.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 am–11 pm. Note that it does not open on Tuesday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Excellent staff, I forgot the young man's name but he was incredibly professional, polite, and knowledgeable. He even gave us a sample of the dried yoghurt, which was familiar to me since I grew up eating something similar. The food is a 10/10, and I don't say that often about any food or restaurant. The Pilaf was on a whole other level, the rice was saturated to perfection, carrots tender & the meat was glazed & melting. Don't get me started on the breads: beware - they are addictive! Their portions are well worth it, I love seeing generosity in this economy. Don't hold back, give it a shot! My friends & I opted for the traditional floor seating. My only minor qualm is that it wasn't cleaned thoroughly before we sat down, I saw food on the other side of the mat & had to wipe down where I sat. No biggie, the food & exemplary service are what matter.

Overall food was outstanding. I'm giving it 4 stars because they ran out of lenthil soup :) and one chicken kebab piece felt undercooked. Salads were outstanding. Tajik tea was superb. We also met the main chef. She was wonderful and kind. Every dish made from scratch. For Indian american patron, buy a box of Uzbek Halwa. You will thank me later!!

Amazing food and very fresh and top quality food. Unfortunately, the service was just horrible. I think it’s a cultural difference thing where you don’t feel welcome at all. We came in and were told there’s no table. It almost felt like we were being told to leave and not made to feel welcome to wait. Must be a cultural thing. The food was amazing! Coming back here only for the food with no expectation of getting good and welcoming service :) The lentil soup is worth $9.99!!!!

My wife and I recently stopped by Anjir Halal Restaurant for a pickup order, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, everything felt welcoming and well put together. We ordered the Chunchvara Dumplings along with two pieces each of their chocolate cake and honey cake—and every single item was absolutely delicious. The dumplings were flavorful and perfectly prepared, while the desserts were rich, fresh, and incredibly satisfying without being overwhelming. What really stood out was the tremendous customer service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the pickup process smooth and pleasant. Even during a quick visit, their hospitality made a lasting impression. The ambiance of the restaurant also deserves recognition—it’s beautifully lit and has a calm, peaceful atmosphere that makes you want to come back and dine in next time. Overall, a fantastic experience. We’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend Anjir Halal Restaurant to everyone looking for great food and excellent service!

I’ve been here several times now, and it keeps getting better. The flavors are authentic and consistent every visit. The plov is always perfectly cooked, and the meat is tender and well-seasoned. It’s rare to find a place that maintains quality like this. The workers were attentive and hardworking, even during busy hours. They handled everything calmly and efficiently. It’s clear they put effort into making sure guests are comfortable. Really appreciated their positive attitude. Special Thank you to AbdulAziz H. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
